Dorm PSP Public Sleepover Project
€10 / The public are invited to participate in a sleepover at The Model to be hosted on the opening night of Dorm, Saturday 1st May. The PSP is presented as an inventive partnership with the Sligo Institute of Technology; up to eighty guests will bed down on innovative sleeping apparatuses designed by SIT design students.
Danish artist Thierry Geoffroy/Colonel will introduce a new, noctural project Slow Dance before the PSP, and this will be followed by musical performances from Pallas Contemporary Projects.
To spend the night in The Model on 1st May you must pre-register. To book your place please email tickets@modelart.ie

How can I book to sleep in The Model?
Bookings are accepted via tickets@modelart.ie.
Update: The sleepover is now fully booked. If you would like to join our waiting list, please contact info@modelart.ie. The Model will contact you by Thursday, April 29th, should there be any cancellations.
How do I get there?
Please visit www.themodel.ie/about/visit to find out how to get here.
How do I check in on arrival?
On arrival please go to The Model reception to check in where you will be given a wristband to allow admittance to the Sleepover.
What will I be sleeping on?
You will be sleeping on unique sleeping apparatuses, made entirely out of balloons and cardboard, designed in collaboration with Design students at The Sligo Institute of Technology.
Is bedding provided?
There is no bedding provided. Please bring your own sleeping bag, pillow or other requirements.
What time does the sleep over start/end?
The sleepover commences after the night’s performances have ended, roughly after midnight. All guests are asked to leave The Model by 10am the following morning so we can prepare to re-open to the public.
Are there shower and toilet facilities?
We have no public shower facilities but there are lots of toilet facilities in the building
Is breakfast provided?
Breakfast is not provided. However, breakfast is served at The Glasshouse Hotel , from 7.00 to 11.00 am on Sunday morning. The Glasshouse is on Hyde Bridge, only five minutes walk from The Model, in the centre of town. A special discount is on offer for all our sleepover guests:

Do I need to book to participate in Slow Dance?
No, the Slow Dance is part of the sleepover event. Thierry Geoffroy’s only request is that all participants attend the dance in pyjamas or other sleeping attire.
Can I opt out of the nocturnal events?
Yes, the nocturnal events will take place in the atrium. The sleeping quarters are in the Black Box area, should you wish to opt out.
Do I have access to lockers?
There are 30 lockers available for use. The lockers cannot be pre-booked and are allocated on a first come basis.
What else is happening on Saturday?
The exhibition Dorm will open at 6pm on Saturday and will include performances as part of the opening. Then at 9pm “ Fresh Air with Donal Dineen and members of the Box Social collective begins and goes on until 11.30pm.
Is there anything happening on Sunday?
Yes, Dorm and The Model will re-open to the public from noon on Sunday. Then the first Dorm Symposia takes place from 4-6pm in The Atrium and is free of charge.
Are there any age restrictions?
You must be 18 or over to stay in The Model.
What other obligations will I have?
You will have to sign a statement that relinquishes The Model from any liability during your stay. It is of course expected that guests will be respectful to other guests and to Model staff.

Dorm opens at 6pm. The opening event includes performances from Evas Arche und der Femenist. The opening is followed at 9pm by Fresh Air, a music gig with Donal Dineen and friends. The night concludes with a Public Sleepover project which commences at midnight and includes “Slow Dance” a Thierry Geoffroy/Colonel project and a performance from Bloodyends - 02 May: Dorm Symposia I: Dialogues
Dorm artist collectives discuss each other’s work with the audience. 4pm-6pm
