Blokkfloytistene St. Sunniva: Recorder Concert
On Friday 25th June The Model will host a very unique evening of music by Norwegian recorder ensemble ‘Blokkfløytistene St. Sunniva’.
The ensemble consists of sixteen enthusiastic and dynamic musicians aged between 13-26 years old, who play a wide range of recorders from the very tiny sopraninos to the great sub-basses, making for a really unique performance. The concert is an all-ages event and will definitely be an inspiration for any aspiring young musicians in Sligo. Tickets for children are free of charge, and adult tickets are just €5.
It’s a short concert of about an hour in length, starting at 7.30pm, and promises to make great use of the acoustic in the new Model Theatre. A lovely way to start your weekend the young musicians are bound to bring a smile to your face.
‘Blokkfløytistene St. Sunniva’, whom are based in Oslo, are particiapting in a nationwide of tour of Ireland and this stop-off in Sligo is one of the dates they are most looking forward to. The performance is presented in partnership with The Model and The Sligo Festival of Baroque Music , which will take place in early October.
