Culture Night 2011

FREE / The Model stays open late for a night of free culture.

Visit The Model’s Artist studios.

Exhibitions open until 8pm.

A secret screening at the Model Cinema @ 6pm.

Performances by two Sligo based Barbershop quartets: Closen Time and Notorious at 7.15pm.

Take part in “Drink and Draw” in the Atrium: an innovative event for all budding artists.

Drink and Draw is a concept that has flourished around the world and in other corners of Ireland, Drink and Draw evenings present an opportunity for artists of all levels to meet and network.

This first Drink and Draw session at the Model will take place in the lovely Atrium space. This is a “Bring your own Beer” affair, and the Slice Café at the Model will remain open for those who fancy a frothy coffee or snack. A Still Life or Model provided on the evening will help to inspire you. Local artist Wayne O Connor will present an introduction to the “Basics of Digital Painting” for those who are interested. The whole evening is planned to be relaxed and informal and may be repeated again in the near future.

The Drink and Draw event is due to start at 6.30pm. Bring a sketchbook, bring a pen, bring a friend.
