The World of Jack B Yeats

The World of Jack B Yeats features works from every phase of Yeats’ career. Watercolours from his early period – one from as early as 1895 – is on display along with Yeats’ first first efforts in oil, which were firmly grounded in realism, and some of his late, great, expressionistic oils. The exhibition features a work that is new to The Niland Collection. Entitled A Nor’western Town, 1936, the work depicts a view of The Diamond in Donegal town through a window and has come to the collection on a long term loan from a private collector. It’s a lively and colourful work and we are delighted to be in a position to bring it to the people of Sligo.
