Described as Trinity’s version of The Rubber Bandits but in a more glamorous jack-knifing interplanetary comedy/rock juggernaut way: the hot one, the small one, the red one and the one they call Shane, also known as Dead Cat Bounce, are coming to The Model.
From the idea that “even a dead cat will bounce if it falls from a great height”, their name came from Wall St and is applied to any case when a subject experiences a brief resurgence during or following a severe decline.
We’re hoping these guys can bring our feel good factor levels resurging back to optimum levels with their brand new show Howl of the She-Leopard.
Part rock band, part international comedy sensation, part three guys who spend an uncomfortable amount of time together, James Walmsley (guitar), Shane O’Brien (bass) and Demian Fox (drums) have been touring the world relentlessly for the last three years, becoming one of the most exciting comedy acts on the planet.
They have performed their rocking stage show to packed houses and critical acclaim at all the major international comedy festivals, including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe where they played more than 60 shows in 24 days. They have played several major music festivals including Leeds, Reading, Oxegen and the Electric Picnic, as well as a hugely successful tour of Australia where they won the Time Out People’s Choice Award in Sydney. They also recently completed filming their first feature film and are in the process of writing another film for the Irish Film Board.
With over 800,000 views to their Youtube hit Rugby, these guys are extremely talented musicians and lyricists having supported The Darkness on the Irish leg of their UK tour and briefly also became members of rock legends Whitesnake.
Now Dead Cat Bounce come to Sligo and are ready to rock your knickers off!
Winners Time Out Jury Prize Sydney Comedy Festival 2010, and People’s Choice Sydney Comedy Festival 2011.
