On December 15^th, Sligo Global Kitchen rocked The Model with a grand party, bringing together Sligo’s many communities to celebrate the festive season. A festive banquet of multi-cultural cuisine from around the world was served and the event opened with heartfelt songs of joy from the Sligo Gospel Choir. Many asylum seekers living in Direction Provision in Sligo came, as well as the Syrian refugee community in Roscommon. Other special guests included members of Akidwa, the African women’s support group in Dublin. Diversity Sligo, Sligo Family Resource Centre and other local services were on hand to provide information on their services.
