Director Andrey Zvyagintsev (Leviathan) delivers an unforgiving portrait of Russia’s new middle class. Dysfunctional couple Zhenia (Maryana Spivak) and Boris (Alexey Rozin) have had more than enough of each other, and neither one has much time to devote to their son, Alyosha (Matvei Novikov), until one morning they discover that he has disappeared without leaving a trace.
