Create a collaborative, textile-based artwork, using upcycled-cottons, and wool dyed with plants from the artist’s garden, as well as dried and pressed plants, and bio-plastics. The finished artwork will resemble a ‘no-sew’ quilt, and participants will have a chance to contribute a square to the larger work. Squares will be made using bio-plastic as a glue to hold fabrics, yarn and pressed flowers together. The artist will bring examples of plants, natural dyes, and pigments to encourage conversations around material, gardening, systems, and natural colour processing. Overall, this project celebrates garden-grown colours, slow processes and collaboration.

Gribkoff is an artist whose work includes foraging and growing to make dyes and inks, quilts, soft sculptures, photography, and plant-support systems. Her research moves through contemporary eco-critical themes, systems thinking (permaculture) and new materialist studies.
About the Education Residency programme
The exhibition by Christine Mackey; Seeking to walk beautifully on the earth will be augmented by a unique creative engagement programme, situating a different artist each week in a dedicated gallery space. They will set up a working studio and lead a series of ecological-based workshops for different groups. All workshops are free of charge and are open to children, artists, students, communities of interest and the general public.
