The Model is pleased to present A Winter Light, Mark Garry’s most ambitious solo exhibition to date, opening at The Model, Sligo, this February.

Articulating the complete range of Mark’s cultural activities, this survey show includes his acclaimed thread installations, new film works and exciting collaborative music project. Garry’s work is informed by his interest and engaging with the many mechanisms that influence and effect how one navigates the world, and in particular, the complexity and subjectivity inherent in these navigations.

No stranger to Sligo, Garry returns to The Model after taking part in the extremely successful exhibition ‘Into The Light’ in 2012/2013 in which he captivated the attention of visitors with his stellar spectrums of coloured thread installations in The Model galleries.

One of Ireland’s leading contemporary artists, Garry has held exhibitions at prestigious art venues in Europe and North America, Australia and Asia. He also represented Ireland at the 2005 Venice Biennale in a group exhibition and ‘Ireland at Venice 2005’.
