To celebrate 60 years of The Niland Collection, The Model has presented a year-long series of events that commemorate Nora Niland and the remarkable collection she founded for Sligo. To Have and to Hold features works by a host of talented Irish artists spanning the period 1880-2012. A core part of this exhibition is comprised of a wall dedicated to over 20 works by Jack Butler Yeats. Here, every distinct stage of his artistic development is represented, from his pen & ink illustrations, to his watercolour period, and finally to his late great works in oil paint from the early 1920s onwards. Another very special highlight includes a core body of work by the distinguished Irish artist Sean McSweeney. Over 100 works can be explored thematically through the genres of landscape, portraiture, abstraction and domesticity in this critically acclaimed exhibition.
