On Thursday 29th May, we are delighted host an auction here at The Model in aid of The Donal Parsons Trust. Hosted by renowned art auctioneer John de Vere White, the event will feature an evening of fine art, wine and canapés accompanied by music from the Sligo Academy of Music.
Andy Parsons is a well‐known artist who lives and works in Co. Sligo. In October 2013, his six year old son, Donal, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma which is a very rare children’s cancer. Donal is currently receiving 18 months of intensive treatment at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin, Dublin.
The Donal Parsons Trust has been set up to raise money to access any viable treatments to prevent relapse and to pay for treatments if Donal relapses. The Trust may also assist Donal and his family during his treatment. If Donal doesn’t need further treatment all proceeds will go towards fighting Neuroblastoma and to other families in similar circumstances.
Over 60 artworks have been kindly donated to this event. Some of the generous Irish artists to have given work in support of this fundraiser include Liadin Cooke and Mark Garry.
