Eorna is a performance art event, which will include its namesake performance, Eorna, a new group performance by Sandra Corrigan Breathnach, specifically designed for Christine Mackey’s solo exhibition Seeking to walk beautifully on the earth, which will incorporate Corrigan Breathnach's workshop participants.
This event is being held through an invited artist residency program by Christine Mackey as part of her solo exhibition; Seeking to walk beautifully on the earth, running from Tuesday 4th February – Saturday 22nd of March 2025. As part of Corrigan Breathnach’s residency, she is hosting a performance art workshop, running from Wednesday the 5th to the 8th of February, exploring embodied practice, together with an exploration of the metaphysical and how the possibility of both, can paradoxically be experienced simultaneously within performance, together with consideration of the transformative nature of objects through performance actions.
This event will include selected outcome performances by the workshop participants, Hilary Gilligan, Sarah Riseborough, Rob Ireson, Emily Lohan, Laura Grisart, Rebecca Christina Devins, Samantha O'Reilly, Maria May, Bella Yang, offering an exciting opportunity to view and engage with live contemporary Irish performance practice.
Sandra Corrigan Breathnach is an Interdisciplinary artist and curator working mainly in performance art, her practice includes elements of sculpture, drawing, photography, video and sound.
