he Model is delighted to announce the first exhibition in our new Studio Artists’ Gallery.

Conor Gallagher ‘s show Higher Ground opens on 19 May at 6.30pm and runs 20-28 May.

In describing Higher Ground, Conor commented “I have been climbing the mountains surrounding Sligo, in different weather and seasons to explore the geology and the flora in detail.
This added to my familiarity with them from a distance where they inform the composition of the setting of the town, views and routes.

In parallel to digging deeper into the idea of place and land as a material exploration, I also started a material exploration of paint, pigments, minerals and oils to make these paintings.”

You are invited to see the results of Conor’s work from his Model Studio at the opening in the new Model Studio Artist’s Gallery on 19 May, or during its run from 20-28 May.
