We’re delighted to announce our new digital film programme, IFI @ The Model.
A partnership with the Irish Film Institute , the national cultural institution for film in Ireland, IFI@The Model will be the main provider of cultural new releases in the Northwest. IFI@The Model will provide a selection of films from the IFI’s new release programme, which brings audiences the best in Irish and international independent cinema.
Our cinema programme will also include Youth Film Projects and special screenings, Ruby Tuesdays, for the over-55s beginning in October drawing on the expertise of the IFI programmers.
To celebrate the launch of IFI @ The Model, there will be a free public screening at 8pm on September 23rd of the critically-acclaimed French film, Gainsbourg, this hugely anticipated film is from the visionary eye of French graphic-artist and director, Joann Sfar. It is a completely original take on one of France’s most illustrious and infamous mavericks, the enfant terrible of French pop, Serge Gainsbourg. Gainsbourg is one of 2010’s most recommended films and is brought to us by the team behind the magical creatures of Pan’s Labyrinth.
The Model Cinema is a 244-seat theatre. IFI @ The Model will have three screenings weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8pm from September 28th.
All are welcome and admission is free for the Sep 23rd screening of Gainsbourg.
