Students from IT Sligo’s BA (Hons) in Performing Arts, specialising in Theatre Design, have collaborated with The Model Education team and the Blue Raincoat Theatre Company to create a unique multimedia performance event based on a short extract from Marina Carr’s play Woman and Scarecrow.
This one-off event, in The Model’s performance space, will form part of the students’ graduate exhibition and coincides with an exciting exhibition of theatre and film designs opening at The Model next Tues. 10 May at 6pm.
The exhibition will be opened by Abbey Theatre Production Director, Gavin Harding, and will provide a significant insight into the work that takes place behind the scenes in the world of theatre and film.
Detailed scaled models and drawings of a range of theatre and film work will be on display for plays by Shakespeare, Beckett, and Carr in a variety of theatres including the Abbey and Gaiety Theatres Dublin, The Hawks Well Theatre, Sligo Abbey, The Royal Court London, as well as film locations in Ireland, US and Ardmore Studios Ireland Dublin.
The exhibition runs from Tuesday May 10th to Sunday May 15th at The Model Education Department, The Mall, Sligo.
