There is a Fundraising Concert for the Sligo Festival of Baroque Music this Saturday night, May 23rd, at the Methodist Church on Wine Street. The concert will be performed by Sligo Baroque (formerly Sligo Early Music Ensemble) with Peter Browne (oboe), Austin McManus (violin), Anna Houston and Moya Gorman (cello), and directed by Rod Alston.
The Concert commences at 8pm and will include the following works:
- Bach Concerto for Oboe and Violin
- Vivaldi Concerto for two Cellos
- Handel Concerto Grosso Op 3 no 2
- Telemann Wassermusik
Tickets, priced €15/€8, are available on the door.
All proceeds from this concert will be put toward the running of the 2009 Sligo Festival of Baroque Music which takes place from 1st — 4th October in Sligo. The Festival is curated and produced by Artistic Director Rod Alston and supported by The Model, Sligo Arts Service and The Arts Council.
