Yeats Festival Season looking for volunteers to take part in the Street Team Campaign

Do you like talking to people? Are you proud of Sligo? Are you enthusiastic and positive? If so the Yeats Fest Street Team need your help.

The Yeats Festival Season is presented by some of Sligo’s key cultural organisations who have come together to celebrate the creativity of the Yeats family, most especially brothers W.B and Jack B. Yeats, and to highlight the special inspiration provided by Sligo for their work.

This summer the Festival Season is seeking to work with a group of enthusiastic volunteers who would be interested in joining the Yeats Festival Street Team. All new festivals need a lot of extra hard work and dedication at the start from everyone involved, and if this one is to succeed your help is needed. Maybe you are a secondary school student looking to fill hours for your presidents award? Or a college student looking to learn more about tourism and marketing and the arts over the summer? Or someone who is just enthusiastic about Sligo and has some time to spare? If so you could help make the Yeats Fest a success and help attract tourism to Sligo.

For the Festival Season, The Model is mounting an exhibition of Jack Yeats work, entitled The Sligo Paintings, and it will run for the season’s duration ; 24th July — 15th August.
