Tommie Gorman (RTE Northern Editor) launched the 2009 Yeats Festival Season to an invited audience, including the winners of the primary school art competition, at The Glasshouse Hotel on Friday last, 12th June- the eve of W.B. Yeats birthday. Representatives of all of the organisations taking part in the Season were also present, including Denise Rushe and Aoife Flynn (Festival Season chair) from The Model.

The Model is mounting an exhbition of Jack Yeats work, entitled The Sligo Paintings, for the Season and it will run for the season’s duration ; 24th July – 15th August. The Model Education team are also organising free Children’s Workshops to take place in The Glasshouse Hotel (thank you to The Glasshouse!) on the first 3 Saturdays of the Season.
